The Wiefel family can’t make up its mind. Who is allowed to decide what they are going to eat and where they are going on their Sunday trip? The Wiefel family examines and tests out every possible form of decision-making conscientiously and decisively – after all, who made the rule that only the parents can call the shots? Who represents whom here, and why are things this way? Together with the turtle Rainer-Maria, the Wiefel family sets off in search of fairness. And so, over the coming weeks, the daily family hierarchies are thrown into question and turned on their head – or simply eliminated!
The fourth children’s theater piece by the inclusive Hamburg theater ensemble Meine Damen und Herren (MDUH) adapts the eponymous book by Juli Zeh for the stage. The piece is cast inclusively, the artistic team is composed of members of the children’s theater group TRAUMMASCHiNE Inc. and MDUH, and reflects the topic of those deciding and those responding in live, as well as within the piece.

Meine Damen und Herren from Hamburg is a permanent theater ensemble of professional actors with so-called mental disabilities. Founded in 1996, the group has developed a wide variety of theater productions and staged them at Kampnagel as well as additional theaters and festivals both within Germany and abroad. Charlotte Pfeiffer is a director, performer, voice over artists and dramaturg and develops children’s theater productions as part of the multidisciplinary ensemble TRAUMMASCHiNE Inc. Martina Vermaaten is a director and theater educator and has worked with the ensemble MDUH since 2003.
