ASSITEJ Artistic Gathering 2015 (AAG15)
The ASSITEJ Artistic Gathering (AAG15) is the annual platform of ASSITEJ International, the association of children’s and youth theatres with 80 national centres around the globe. At the World Congress 2011 in Copenhagen and Malmö, the General Assembly of ASSITEJ took the following strategic decision in order to intensify international artistic exchanges between theatres for young audiences: Instead of meeting every three years there would now be an annual meeting. The first meeting of this sort took place in Japan in 2012, during the renowned festival “Kijimuna Festa” on the island of Okinawa. The main theme on the agenda of this ASSITEJ International Meeting was “Facing Society”. One year later an International Meeting took place during the “Schäxpir Festival” in Linz (Austria). As the title implies, “Facing the Artists” was devoted to artists. “Facing the Audience” at the World Congress in Warsaw (Poland) in 2014 closed this range of themes.
ASSITEJ Germany and the German Children and Young People’s Theatre Centre have now been granted the responsibility of organising the third International Meeting. Entitled ASSITEJ Artistic Gathering 2015 (AAG15) , it will be taking place for the first time during the Augenblick mal! festival in Berlin. Its motto is “Generations in Dialogue”.
At the heart of the ASSITEJ Artistic Gathering 2015 (AAG15) will be four talk rounds, the International Artistic Encounters, each of which will last for several hours. The centre of attention will be devoted to the productions that have been invited to Augenblick mal! 2015 and their perspectives on the concept of generations. The Encounters will be accompanied by a range of exchange formats. The International Artistic Networks will be meeting in Berlin and the Next Generation programme for up-and-coming artists will be closely tied in. An exhibition is intended to stimulate ideas and opinions on the past, present and future history of theatre for young people. The 50th anniversary of the foundation of the World Association will be celebrated and honoured.
A registration is required to attend the ASSITEJ Artistic Gathering (AAG15). Information about registration, prices and payment methods can be found HERE.
